I have been in education my entire professional career. I taught special education in Maryland before settling down to raise my two wonderful sons. I ventured back into teaching when my sons were in high school. I began tutoring foster and homeless children and this fueled my passion to return to the classroom. This is my eighth year teaching at Bollinger Canyon and my second year teaching a straight third grade class. The formative years are so critical and I'm glad to be a part of shaping their education.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends on the golf course, hiking, skiing and enjoying good restaurants. I also enjoy quilting and reading a juicy novel. I have a two year old golden retriever named Blue with whom I am madly in love. The students will be hearing a lot about Blue during writing workshop.
I'm looking forward to working with your children and having a wonderful year!
